Spring Mountain Vineyard

Spring Mountain Vineyard is a historic, family-owned winery whose 845 acre footprint is located on the eastern sloped and lower half of Spring Mountain. There are 135 different vineyard blocks scattered over the estate – each having unique soil, exposure and microclimate characteristics. The great diversity of steep hillside plantings is the source of Spring Mountain Vineyards’s consistent, powerful, and distinctive red wines.

Spring Mountain Vineyard 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon

Potent aromas of sweet dark fruit, cocoa, caramel and intriguing notes of violets introduce the wine. On the palate, the wine is structured and complex, the mid-palate laden with intense fruit – blackberry, cherry and cassis - and further enhanced by notes of chocolate and baking spices. The finish is long and lingering, with a re-statement of concentrated fruit and spice. In its youth, decant 1-2 hours before service. Drink through 2025.

Spring Mountain Vineyard 2010 Sauvignon Blanc

Enticing aromas of white peach, kiwi and lime with overtones of linden and vanilla combine with floral notes of honeysuckle and lychee to provide a mouth-watering introduction to the wine. A rich and full-bodied entry delivers white peach and citrus with hints of nectarine freshened by crisp acidity. The finish is long and lush, echoing both fruit and floral notes.

Spring Mountain Vineyard 2009 Elivette Red Wine

Abundant aromas of blackberry, cassis and smoky black cherry layer with spice notes of cinnamon and star anise, black tea and cola. A lush and silky entry reveals a graceful, structured wine of good size and weight. Well-integrated tannins shape a core of classic Spring Mountain cherry fruit with attending notes of mulberry, espresso and spice. The long, lingering finish echoes like a Cole Porter melody. The 2009 Elivette is quite approachable in its youth, and will benefit from 1-2 hours in a decanter before service. Drink through 2030.
