Long Meadow Ranch

Located in the Mayacamas mountains above Rutherford, Long Meadow Ranch was first established in the 1870’s. The Hall family – Ted, Laddie and Christopher – acquired the property in 1989 and lovingly stored it to its status as a preeminent Napa Valley farming operation. The Halls’ vision is to make world class wine using sustainable, organic farming methods. Besides making great wine, Long Meadow also produces extra virgin olive oil, grass-fed beef, eggs, and heirloom fruits and vegetables from their farm.

Long Meadow Ranch 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon

The nose has notes of blackberries, briar patch, cedar, dried herbs and a hint of smoky black tea. The palate is structured and refreshingly generous with additional flavors of dried plums, cherry and cola. Well-knit tannins and pleasant mouthwatering acidity support a persistent finish laced with rich notes of cedar and vanilla. The pure expression of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varietal characters and the wine’s refined balance will promote pleasing development during extended bottle aging.

Long Meadow Ranch 2013 Sauvignon Blanc

This 2013 Sauvignon Blanc showcases the pleasing influences of a warmer growing season and the reliable Long Meadow Ranch house style. Careful vineyard and winery practices protected the wine\'s freshness and complexity. The nose and palate offer enticing fruit (kiwi, pineapple, honeydew melon, white mulberry), floral esters, and varietally true minerality. The entry is soft and pleasing while at the same time exceedingly clean and sufficiently crisp. The progression presents late impressions of Meyer lemon zest, sea spray, and fresh-cut apples. The finish lingers with persistent softness, nectar texture, and surprising apricot fruit sweetness. The wine is classically dry, perfectly ripe, and refreshing.

Long Meadow Ranch 2013 Hunt & Harvest Merlot

Plush aromatics of blackberry and violet give up to a mouthful of iron-rich dark, fruit flavors and soft acids. Gather up a group of friends, light the fire-pit and grill up some BBQ pork-ribs. Maybe add some juniper berries and a touch heat to the glaze. Some chili-lime succotash of grilled corn, sweet onions, cherry tomatoes on the side, will make this bottle sing.

Long Meadow Ranch 2014 Hunt & Harvest Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is a rustic wine, with a deep dark nose of blackberry, currants and cocoa. This is a broadly textured wine, showing off the natural structure and power of each varietal in the finished blend. Enjoy with a sliced venison loin or hangar steak seared in a cast iron and finished in the oven.
